UK Garage

UK garage (also known as UKG) is a genre of electronic music originating from England in the early 1990s. London DJ who liked the garage style decided to create their variant of garage sound with characteristic cut in a half bass line. The new sound was named as speed garage or UK garage (after the country, where the style was born).

Birth: 1996 Bloom: 2007

The remix by Armand Van Helden on CJ Bolland`s «Sugar is Sweeter» became a composition that defined rules of speed garage`s sound. The sound was so new that was perceived as something revolutionary, which attracted youth artists and listeners.

That`s why the UK garage scene is full of young musicians. The style became a worthy alternative to the techno and house styles.
